For the past couple years, Dana Murphy of Unregistered Nurse has been working tirelessly to bring good old-fashioned ass-kicking punk and garage rock to Baltimore. If it sounds anything like the Ramones, she likes it, and so do we. And she has been giving us a good education in some great bands that would otherwise have gone under our radars, bringing them to the greatly missed Sonar (where she was a booker), Golden West, the Holy Underground, and anywhere else that loves to rock. Not only that, but she does it with a sense of grrrl power, making sure that women aren’t left out of the city’s rock and roll scene. For bringing those about to rock to Baltimore, we salute you.
