This Baltimore-based rock ’n’ roll group has been going strong for 10 years, churning out bright, bubbly pop songs that will make anyone giddy—not just kids. Started by indie rockers Lisa Mathews and Mikel Gehl, Milkshake was originally a reaction to their new roles as parents. Now they’ve got four albums under their belt, and from the outset, they’ve garnered critical acclaim from the likes of Child Magazine and the LA Times. Their latest album, Great Day was nominated for the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Musical Album for Children, and its fourth track, “You Did It!,” has become our official anthem for the week leading up to BOB’s printing. We quote: “You did it! You did it! You did it! Yeah!” Just try to not get productive.
