Sizzlin’ Summer: Summer in Baltimore is a sensory explosion, from the scent of Old Bay-smothered steamed crabs and the taste of marshmallow-topped chocolate snoballs to the smell of Ocean City salt water mixed with sunscreen and the vision of fireflies. 5/15/2013

Best House Music

Deep Sugar

The legendary Paradox is easily one of the best clubs in the country (two massive rooms, one chill spot outside) and it’s equipped with one of the best sound systems, but man do we Baltimoreans take it for granted. If you’ve never gone to Wayne Davis’ wonderful nightclub, or it’s just been a while, maybe because you just don’t feel so hot on having your ears blasted away by club music and want something a bit more soulful, then second Saturdays when Ultra Nate and Lisa Moody’s Deep Sugar party comes through is for you. For the night at least, house music takes over the Dox, usually with some impressive guests (Frankie Knuckles stopped by late last year), a comfortable “our house is your house” atmosphere, and barbecue in the yard when the weather fits. Yes, Deep Sugar is one of the only places to check out house music in Baltimore right now, but it’s also the ideal place to hear house.
