Best Pickle Back

Dionysus

8 E. Preston St., (410) 244-1020, dionysusbar.com

Yet another minitrend hearkening back to days of tippling yore, the pickle back, has made its way to Baltimore, and Dionysus was one of the first places to offer it. In fact, it’s one of the very few places where it’s actually a by-product of the house-made pickles. The briny chaser serves to both soothe the burn for whiskey drinkers (well, those who require training wheels anyway) and maybe, just maybe, keep tomorrow’s hangover at bay. Pro tip: It doesn’t work. Anyway, Dio’s pickle juice is bracing and spicy, and very effective at removing all traces of whatever you had in your mouth previously, for better or worse.
