Don’t know who at Club Chuck is doing the jukebox these days, and on a recent visit the bartender didn’t either. But he/she/it has damned good taste. Karp! Yes, the way underappreciated ’90s artcore/noisecore band. Hadn’t thought about Karp in a good minute really. Not saying that we haven’t found ourselves looking for a reason to drink, but what a great place to unleash heavy, ragged music. In any case, it’s not about that one CD, but the principle of the thing—most places might have digital everything-you-could-ever-want jukeboxes now, but the thrill of finding something you didn’t know you wanted might keep you planted for at least another round.
