We barely remember our last time at the Drinkery, but we know it involved the kind of whiskey-ginger that knocks you on your ass even after the bartender tops it off with soda and making friends with strangers eager to hook up some straight girls—in a totally noncreepy way. And that’s why we know it’s the best. That, and the fact that it’s purple, and that it’s a dive bar, and that it huddles a few blocks away from the Hippo/Grand Central/Sappho hub on Charles Street like the cool kid who smokes cigarettes under the bleachers during football games. Plus, like, it’s called the Drinkery, which is pretty much our favorite—and the most accurate—name for a bar ever.
