Add Alewife to the growing number of Baltimore beer bars that understand quantity is only worthwhile if there’s quality to back it up. The giant chalkboard boasts an ever-changing selection of 40 brews, and while Dogfish Head and Victory seem to be perpetual local favorites, selections reach across the country (Stone, Lagunitas) and occasionally overseas. We’ve downed rauchbiers and sours, lambics and imperials of all stripes, often accompanied by a cone of duck-fat fries, and you can be assured your server is as big a beer geek as you are.
